Best central location. Close to the beach, making it easy to spend time there. Water refill service was a convenient and eco-friendly bonus.

Facilities were basic, especially the dorm room with small beds and poor ventilation. There were limited charging outlets and no lockers for valuables.

Funky Dodo is THE backpacker stay in the Stann Creek District. It's in the very centre of Hopkins, near everything you need: restaurants, bars, beach, bus stop, and ATM. The small number of well-equipped private rooms and dorms group around an open kitchen and lounge area, always filled with life. The rooftop deck is a great place to chill. The owners, Roy and Anna, provide a nice welcome and are really kind. The hostel is clean, with lovely gardens to relax in. It's just a minute away from the beach and the bus stop, making it the perfect location. Highly recommend the tours from here.

Shady outdoor area with trees, hammocks, and communal kitchen. Free morning coffee. Owners gave cash due to ATM issues. Friendly local animals for cuddles. Well-kept colorful place with clean showers and bathrooms. Convenient supermarket across the street.

I recently stayed at the Funky Dodo Backpackers in Hopkins for a few days. It's the only hostel in town, so it was a great place to meet fellow travelers. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the showers and toilets were kept clean. The staff, Roy and Anna, were friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to bring our black lab. They gave our kids kites for a local festival, which was a fun touch. The hangout area with hammocks was perfect for relaxing, and I appreciated the option to refill my water bottle for a small charge. a comfortable, relaxed, and friendly place to stay.

funky dodo backpackers in hopkins was even better the second time around. the owners were incredibly kind and went above and beyond, providing aloe for my sunburn. the location was perfect, right by the beach and a supermarket. highly recommend the tours, especially the night one!

The mattress in my room was comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. I loved the colorful and well-kept ambiance of the Funky Dodo Backpackers. The clean and bright showers and bathroom were a pleasant surprise, and I appreciated the abundance of hooks in there and in the rooms. The curtains on each bed provided privacy, and I felt secure with the lockable drawer for valuables. The reading light and plug for electronics at each bunk were a nice touch. The hammocks in the inner garden were perfect for relaxation and reading, and having a supermarket conveniently located across the street was a plus. The clean and well-equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals.

Although there were a few minor inconveniences, such as the slightly springy and soft mattress and the procedure of signing in and paying before being able to put down luggage, overall I found my stay at Funky Dodo Backpackers to be wonderful. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the hostel.

The hostel's common areas are lovely, with an outdoor kitchen and shaded hammocks. It is also conveniently located just steps away from the beach. the rooms are basic but comfortable, with beds and fans.

The owner gave us incorrect bus information, causing a lengthy and frustrating journey.

stayed in hopkins before but the funky dodo backpackers made it even better! the dorms were comfy, the bathrooms were great, and the owners were like family. loved the peaceful garden and the convenience of the local bus stopping right outside at 7am.

I had a fantastic time at The Funky Dodo! The staff was incredibly helpful and made me feel like family. The rooms were spotless and the beds were comfortable. The location was perfect, with everything within walking distance. I also enjoyed unwinding in the hammocks after a long day. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hostel.

The communal area was really nice, with a chill out garden and excellent shower facilities. the location of the hostel was very convenient, being close to restaurants and the bus stop.

The bed in my room was old and saggy, definitely in need of a mattress replacement. the rooms were not luxurious, a bit stuffy, and the mattresses were not very comfortable.
